The photo below is evidence, if needed, of how long Jules has been associated with Ben Rhydding. A teenage Jan Raw remembers her first game for the club in the 1960s alongside Julie.

No matter which club she has ended up at Julie has become fully involved in its running. I spoke to a player from Darlington HC who told me that she and her brothers had played alongside Jules who they all called Mother.
Her time at Blossomfield and Huddersfield saw her actively involved in playing, coaching and supporting however she could.
But her heart was always at Ben Rhydding and that's where she returned whenever she could. She played, coached, umpired and inspired young players in her role as captain. Ask our own Jodie who was her captain when she played her first senior game for BR.
Julie was President in 2006, tackling this role with her usual mixture of humour, charm and fierce determination. She never took the easy option, facing challenges head on even if it made her temporarily unpopular.
Most people reading this won't have known Julie but be assured if you were picking teams you'd want her on yours.
RIP my friend.
Julie's funeral is at Huddersfield crematorium at 12.30 on Friday 30th October. Followed by a gathering at Woodsome Golf Club. David(Chalkie) would be grateful for an idea of numbers please so contact me ( Mary P) , Jan or Hils if you are able to attend and would like more details.
