New season, new captain for the Mighty Fifths who move on from their winningest captain of recent times, Oli Harlen, to Westy who is already being compared by some to Kevin Keegan arriving at Newcastle as manager*

New season, new team. With a number of new players and old players playing new roles this had 'first game vibes' all over it, especially when Adel turned up with a team that had drilled their plays over a long pre-season and it was ironic that it was a fluky first goal that turned the game decisively and Adel played out a comfortable win in the end after we had shut them down for 50 minutes.

All the Rydding players showed the effort and intent we expect in a league game and we have a platform on which to build. Highlights? That's slightly unfair on what was a great team effort but I have to call out Dave Braisby-Taylor for his tackling which stood out and earned him man of the match to go with his ability to disappear somehow entirely when their 3rd goal went in which earned him DotD too.

It is great to get the season off and running, let's go turn that effort into a win!!
